Here are the industry leaders who took part in the 2024 MIX course.

Radio
Claire Beck
One of the country’s most seasoned and musically astute radio presenters, Clare cut her teeth with the likes of FM104, Spin1038 and Phantom 105.2 before taking up residence in Marconi House where she has broadcast for almost ten years on Today FM.
In addition to on-air duties, she’s a Music Producer for the broader Bauer Media Group.
Also much in demand as a live DJ, she’s graced the bill at such major events as Electric Picnic, Longitude and Forbidden Fruit; curated her own stage at the Camden Crawl Dublin; and penned a popular Something For The Weekend column for the Irish Sun.

Live Music
Paul Charles
After a spell managing Belfast prog rockers Fruupp in the early ‘70s, alongside Paul Fenn, Paul set up the Asgard agency – his clients have included The Kinks, Tom Waits, Ray Davies, Christy Moore, Van Morrison, Crosby Stills and Nash, Don McLean, The Waterboys, Marti Pellow, Ani Di Franco – and dozens more leading lights of international music. He launched the multi-million selling career of Tanita Tikaram, managed Van Morrison and The Waterboys and books the Acoustic Stage for Glastonbury every year.
Since 1997 he’s also enjoyed a parallel career as a best-selling author with his Detective Inspector Christy Kennedy series of novels steeped in musical references.
In 2023 he penned the acclaimed autobiography, Adventures In Wonderland, which is required reading for anyone who wants to understand the machinations of the music industry from the ground floor to the highest level.

Role of the Producer
Nick Seymour
Nick Seymour began his career in Split Enz before helping to found the internationally successful Crowded House.
He set up Exchequer Studios in Dublin, alongside Brian Crosby and Phil Hayes – clients have included Hozier, Bell X1, Lisa Hannigan, Neil Hannon, Pugwash and Gavin Friday.
Nick has worked on numerous film soundtracks, including The Summit, and acted as a mentor on two series of RTÉ’s Jam.
He played bass on Tarmac Adam’s album The History Effect, released in 2023.

Music Management
Willie Ryan
A qualified barrister and music lawyer, Willie’s clients include Hozier, Johnny McDaid from Snow Patrol and Noel Hogan from The Cranberries who’ve all benefitted from his encyclopaedic knowledge of the rock ‘n’ roll industry.
He's also a co-founder of the Music Cork conference and showcase event; an Association of Independent Music (AIM) board member; sits on the copyright law review committee at Kings Inns; and is a producer on RTÉ’s Subterranean Sessions music series. He manages the career of rising Waterford star Moncrieff.

Music Publicity
Emma Harney
Vastly experienced in all areas of the music industry, Emma cut her teeth with MCD, Hot Press, Mean Fiddler Dublin and Grapevine RMGChart before joining the Universal Music Group as a Product Manager and working with the heavyweight likes of Eminem, Dr Dre, Eels, Ryan Adams, Elton John and Gabrielle.
She currently heads up her own Orchestrate Marketing and PR organisation, whose current and recent clients include Oasis, Primal Scream, Ryan McMullan and The Coronas.
She’s also been part of the Dublin St. Patrick’s and Body & Soul festival set-ups and masterminded the international PR campaign for the award-winning Two Balloons short film.

Independent Artist
Louize Carroll
As well as playing bass with Irish chart conquerors The Blizzards, Louize is currently working on her debut solo album under the name of Lola. She has also worked on soundtracks for prominent films and TV shows.
A qualified consultant psychologist, she’s the co-founder of The Blink Effect, a programme anchored in psychology, neuroscience and mindfulness; regularly appears on Niall Breslin’s award-winning Where Is My Mind?; and works closely with entertainment industry support group Minding Creative Minds.

Music Law
Eileen O'Gorman
Eileen is a partner in the law firm Gleeson McGrath Baldwin. She has a background in broadcasting and the media, and was Station Manager at the independent public service station Anna Livia (now Dublin City FM) from 1995 to 1999. But ultimately the lure of the law proved to be too strong and she has gone on to become one of the most senior legal advisers in the music, entertainment and media sphere in Ireland. A solicitor, Eileen is vastly experienced in the areas where business, intellectual property, media and related technology intersect. She has advised some of the biggest names in rock ’n’ roll, and young, emerging artists alike – as well as managers, record companies, promoters and publishers.
Eileen was appointed as an officer to the Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Committee of the prestigious International Bar Association.

Music Publishing
Steve Lindsey
Steve began his career as bass player with Liverpudlian cult heroes Deaf School.
He subsequently moved into music publishing with Warner/Chappell and was later appointed general manager of Go! Discs Music.
He joined Island Music as Creative Director working with The Beautiful South, Tricky and Massive Attack.
In 1995 he became an independent music supervisor working on films such as Mission: Impossible, Standby, Twin Town and T2 Trainspotting.
In 2003, Steve founded Elevate Music Publishing, which represents the interests of Westlife, Cathy Davey, Aslan, HamsandwicH, Niall Byrne and more.
He also manages Autamata, and is currently on the boards of both IMRO and MCPS (Ireland).

Stuart Clark
A former broadcaster with the legendary offshore Radio Caroline, Stuart switched to print media during the 1990s and has risen up through the Hot Press ranks to become the magazine’s Deputy Editor.
Renowned for his in-depth interviews, Stuart Clark has managed to get good quote from everyone from David Bowie, Amy Winehouse and Bruce Springsteen to Katie Taylor, Nile Rodgers and President Michael D. Higgins.
An early champion of The Cranberry Saw Us – he curated the official Why Can’t We? Cranberries book, published by Hot Press, during lockdown – he continues to proffer his opinions on the likes of Newstalk and RTÉ Radio 1 and in 2024 was the roving reporter on the Animo Productions/Hot Press Uprising music show, broadcast by Virgin Media.

Jackie Hayden
As marketing manager with CBS Records (now Sony) he signed U2 to their first record contract. He also masterminded marketing campaigns for countless acts, including ABBA, Christy Moore, REM, U2, Madonna and Bob Dylan.
As a key member of the Hot Press team, he was centrally involved in launching the Hot Press Awards. He wrote bestselling books about Phil Lynott, Don Baker and Bob Dylan and has spoken at seminars in France, Spain, Germany, London and the USA.
He served on the government’s Task Force on Irish music, and has lectured in virtually every Irish college and university.

Record Labels
Tom Travis
A senior staff member at the fabled Rough Trade Records – the renowned London-based record label established in 1978, and home to acts such as The Strokes, Jarvis Cocker, SOAK, Black Midi, Lankum and more – Tom knows the international record label business inside and out.
After graduating from University College London in 2011, he went on to work in A&R at Rough Trade before becoming a Global Product Manager in 2017. He has also been a working DJ for over 14 years.

Greg Fry
Greg is an International Social Media trainer who delivers regular Social Media, Social Customer Service and Social Business Strategy training and workshops.
He also works as a Social Business and Content Consultant and believes that in order to make social media work, you must identify the correct goals for your business; define and refine your strategic social media, plan and tactics; create outstanding content; and make sure that everything you do is measurable. 

Greg’s sessions are packed with passion and are high energy affairs. He has also worked with such top multinationals as Ulster Bank, Microsoft, Fáilte Ireland, Virgin Media, Abbott Labs, Symantec and Coca Cola Hellenic.
He also lectures for the Digital Marketing Institute, SureSkills and the Digital Skills Academy.
